Three international students escaped death after car engine caught fire

Three people including two international students and a driver has escaped death after the engine of the car they were driving in caught fire on the Girne-Lefkoşa highway on Friday.

The incident which happened at about 6:45 pm on Friday, just 3 kilometers away from Gönyeli, was due to a fuel leak in the vehicle and according to report, the engine compartment of the car was completely burnt. 

Fire crew arrived the scene promptly and helped put off the fire from the car but could not prevent the front part of the car windshield from exploding while the engine of the vehicle was damaged.

The car driver and his friend were happy to avoid any injuries from the fire.

An investigation into the fire was started.
