Paper Round: Paris Saint-Germain prepare Alexis Sanchez bid while City and PSG risk FFP punishments

PSG will bid for Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United negotiate for Nemanja Matic, Ross Barkley is wanted by six clubs and Manchester City face FFP sanctions.

PSG prepare Sanchez bid
Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a bid of £35m for Alexis Sanchez. The French club want to bring the 28-year-old Chilean to the French capital as they plan for another assault on Ligue 1 and the Champions League. However, a fee of £50m is closer to what Arsenal are demanding, and this might just be the start of negotiations that run to transfer deadline day.

Matic deal to be completed this week
Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic could finally have his move to Manchester United sorted out this week. The 28-year-old Serbia player has already agreed terms to move to Old Trafford, but there is a hold up as the two clubs iron out a fee. A £50m sum is likely to be the figure, but there are still negotiations over add-on figures regarding the number of performances he makes and other minor matters.

Manchester City risk FFP punishments
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are both running the risk of fines - or worse - over the FFP restrictions that UEFA put in place several years ago. City could spend around £200m if they add Alexis Sanchez and another central defender to their squad, and PSG would reach a similar figure if they manage to bring in Neymar from Barcelona. UEFA have fined clubs in the past, but there is the possibility of clubs being banned from European competition.

Six clubs chase Barkley
Everton midfielder Ross Barkley is wanted by six clubs as they wait to see if Everton will relent on their £50m asking price. The 23-year-old England international wants to leave with a year left on his contract in order to try a new challenge. Manchester City and Spurs are the favourites to sign him, but Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Manchester United are all possible destinations. A figure between £25m and £30m might be the number that sees him leave.
