Paper Round: Manchester City battle Chelsea for Rudiger, Villa poised to announce Terry

It's Monday's Paper Round. Manchester City are set to battle Chelsea for Antonio Rudiger whilst Aston Villa are bout to announce the signing of John Terry from Chelsea.

City to battle Chelsea for Rudiger
The Mirror reports that Manchester City are ready to offer Roma more money in order to beat Chelsea to the signing of defender Antonio Rudiger. It had been believed that Chelsea were in pole position to sign Rudiger but that deal may be at risk. The report also mentions Chelsea's frustration over their attempts to sign Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro.

Our view: Since the beginning of the transfer window, Chelsea has been linked with several defenders including Juventus Bonucci  and Sandro and just when we thought they are able to get their men, the papers comes up with another target. With Rudiger now in the mix up expect one of them to end up at the bridge become the start of the new season.

Villa to announce John Terry signing on Monday
According to The Telegraph, Championship side Aston Villa are preparing to announce the signing of John Terry on Monday. Terry will sign a 12-month contract having rejected at least 10 other offers from the likes of Galatasaray, Swansea and West Brom.

Juve and Chelsea battle over Danilo
The Mirror report that Chelsea are battling with Juventus over Real Madrid full-back Danilo. The two clubs are in negotiations to see Alex Sandro leave Turin and move to London but now the Blues want to beat Juve to the signing of Danilo. The Madrid right-back played with Sandro at Porto and whilst Juve see him as a replacement for Dani Alves, Antonio Conte wants to reunite him with Sandro at Stamford Bridge.

Our view: Another defender here again for Chelsea who are looking to strengthen in both full-back positions and centre back. Though Danilo didn't exactly convince at Real last season, we see Juve stealing a match on Chelsea over his signature.
According to The Mirror, Bournemouth forward Josh King is unconvinced about joining Spurs because he is wary of being second-fiddle to Harry Kane. Everton are also monitoring the striker, who finished last season in electric form.
