Paper Round: Man Utd given all-clear to sign Dendoncker, Chelsea rejected by Sanches
United given go-ahead to sign Dendocker
The Sun are reporting quotes from Anderlecht
sporting director Herman van Holsbeeck who has admitted that Leander
Dendocker could sign for Manchester United for a fee of between €25-35
million. The player himself has said he's keen on the move and Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested.
Our view: That will be good news for Mourinho who has complained all summer about lack of movement in the transfer market. Hopefully Matic's move to United is completed in time for United to face other targets.
Conte wants more signings as Sanches picks Milan
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made it clear to his board that he wants more signings by saying that his players are already tired. The story from The Mirror also carries a report that says that Chelsea have been rejected by Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches because he believes he will get more football with AC Milan.
Our view: Chelsea are back in the champions league and needs to strengthen their team in readiness to defend their title and compete in the other competitions. They have signed key players already and allow a few other leave but after a poor showing in Asia, they sure do need to sign more players. Hopefully Hazard return in time for the new season.
Barkley will have to lower wage demands for Spurs move
Whilst Ross Barkley is keen on a move for Tottenham Hotspur he will have to lower his wage demands to make it happen according to The Mirror. The report says that although Barkley has turned down £120,000 a week from Everton Spurs are not willing to break their wage barrier of £100,000.
Our view: For Barkley to move out of Everton, he needs to be making the step up in terms of champions league football and wage. For Spurs, it can only offer one of them in champions league but not in wage which might make his move to Spur difficult. Remaining at Everton is not a bad option but lets see if a better option comes in for him aside Spurs.
City likely to head to China next summer
Despite a successful pre-season tour of the US Manchester City will likely go to China next summer according to a report from The Telegraph. Even though Pep Guardiola has been very pleased with his team's pre-season efforts he knows that the club need to have a regular presence in China.
Our view: These days managers have less say about where their clubs go for preseason. Though it serve as an avenue for teams to train and prepare for the upcoming season, also, it more or not serves to boost the club's commercial project in that region. Last season, City along with United faced difficult time touring China due to bad weather and poor pitch, hopefully it will be much better next summer.
