Lionel Messi weds childhood sweetheart (Photos)

Argentina and Barcelona star, Lionel Messi on Friday married his childhood sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo in a civil ceremony with more than 250 friends and family including some of football's biggest stars and pop star Shakira in attendance at a luxury hotel in Rosario, Argentina.

A host of footballing stars, both past and present strutted their stuff on the red carpet, to celebrate the marriage between the two couple. f Barcelona superstar Messi to the mother of his two children.

Messi, 30, and Antonella, 29, have known each other for about 25 years and have two children together.

According to report, the couple, banned mobile phones at the event as staff were also sworn to secrecy with 450 police officers drafted in for the big day.

Antonella looked stunning in a white lace Rosa Clara dress, while Messi was wearing an Armani suit designed by Argentinian designer Claudio Cosano.

Former Barcelona players Xavi Alonso, Cesc Fabregas and Carles Puyol and their wives were in attendance and posed for the world's press on arrival.
