Jerry Hossey Uduimoh, a Nigerian schooling in Cyprus, has finally regained freedom, 19 months after he was accused and jailed for the alleged murder of another Nigerian, Ebinabo Mendeinyo, on December 26, 2015.

His release from jail, on Monday July, 31, was secured by the effort of Turkish Cypriot lawyer, Ramadan Sanıvar and the National Association of Nigerian Student, NANS, Turkish Zone.

When contacted by OlomoInfo Blog, Ramadan confirmed the news and expressed his joy over his release.

Recall that on December, 26, 2015, Jerry who doubles as a comedian and fondly called MC Jerry was accused of stabbing another Nigerian, Ebinabo Mendeinyo, to death over a Zimbabwean girl.

Earlier report on the incident had claimed that Ebinabo jumped from the 6th floor of his apartment building out of fear when some unidentified boys confronted him, a claim that was debunked by the North Cyprus police who pointed out that they found stab wounds on his body.

Jerry, happens to be the first person the police arrested in connection with the murder.

A police source at the time alleged that the fight had started on Christmas Eve at a certain party where an unidentified person got stabbed at the club that night and the following day, the fight was allegedly taken to the victim’s student apartment.

Reports revealed the deceased was believed to have been stabbed multiple times by about six boys alleged to be Nigerians.

Jerry was later charged with murder, trespassing, kidnapping and serious assault.
