Man shot wife dead, and then commit suicide in the North Cyprus
A Turkish Cypriot man on Wednesday shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself in Akanthou village, North Cyprus, reports the Turkish Cypriot press on Thursday.
Ayse Yalcin, 41, a mother of one was shot several times by her husband who is a police officer working in the village.
After shooting dead his wife, in an attempt to commit suicide, the man identified as 43-year-old Kemal Yalcin then turned the gun on himself and shot himself in the head but didn’t die immediately.
He is said to have died on Thursday morning in a Famagusta hospital.
According to reports, the couple had just moved into the new house they bought. The villagers said the couple had argued many times because of the husband’s gambling habits. It is believed that the incident happened after a similar quarrel reports the Cyprus Mail.
The police are currently investigating the incident.
