Lionel Messi celebrates 30th birthday with three cakes

It only seems like yesterday when the Argentine came bursting onto the scene as a floppy-haired young player, but on Saturday Lionel Messi turned 30 as the internet was awash with love for him.

The Barcelona super star spent his big day at home with the family, quietly celebrating with his partner Antonella, his young sons, and not one, not two, but three cakes!

One of the cakes features the Barcelona crest, two footballs and the name “Leo”.

Messi shared the cake on his Instagram page with the message:

Painstaking fitness and diet regime be damned -- when you're Messi you can have as many birthday cakes as you want.
