Cyprus temperatures hits 40C

Temperatures are expected to reach as high as 40C particularly in Cyprus inland beginning from Monday and will prevail until Thursday, the met office said on Monday.

According to the met office, Monday temperatures will rise to 40C in the Nicosia region, and they will be at the same level for the next three days after which a small drop is expected.

At night temperatures will fall to 24C inland, 22C at the coast and 20C in the mountains.

People are by this announcement advised to avoid unnecessary exercise and stay out of the sun whenever possible.

Avoid drinking alcohol and eating heavy foods.
Drink lots of water instead.
