Caitlyn Jenner slammed for controversial joke about shooting of Republican

Caitlyn Jenner has been criticized for a controversial joke she made in the wake of an attack on a US Congressman by a Trump-hating gunman at a Republican baseball practice last week.

The former Olympian who last week claimed that she gets more abuse for being a Republican than she does for being transgender, told a crowd of college Republicans during a question and answer session at the Republican National Committee’s convention in Washington on Friday that “Liberals can’t even shoot straight” when asked about the attack that left Republican congressman Steve Scalise fighting for his life. 

Several people were wounded in the shooting by a Trump-hating activist James Hodgkinson, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise at a Republican baseball practice.

Caitlyn, 67 who first expressed her regret over the shooting, said;

“Nobody deserves what happened out there. There’s no justification.” 

“There’s crazy people, we have to minimise that kind of stuff. But as far as people that were injured, it’s an absolute shame.

“Fortunately, the guy was a really bad shot. Liberals can’t even shoot straight!”

Her joke drew mockery from the conservative crowd - but many on social media didn’t see the funny side when video footage of her comments surfaced online.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A video of her speech was uploaded to a college Republican group in Virginia’s Facebook page but has since been taken down.
