Arsene Wenger signs new two-year contract at Arsenal

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has has signed a new two-year contract at the Emirate club, ending speculation over his future as Arsenal manager.


The new deal which does not include a break clause will extend Wenger's at the club from the current 21st year to 23rd year..

Wenger, 67 joined Arsenal in 1996 and has won three Premier League titles since then with the last coming in 2004.
"Arsenal Football Club and Arsene Wenger have agreed a two-year extension to his contract as manager ... Arsene and chief executive Ivan Gazidis have conducted a full review of our on and off the pitch activities to identify areas for improvement to build a sustained title challenge," The club announced in a statement on Wednesday:
In response to the new agreement, Wenger said: 
"I love this club and I am looking forward to the future with optimism and excitement. We are looking at what we do well and how we can be stronger everywhere.
This is a strong group of players and with some additions we can be even more successful. We're committed to mounting a sustained league challenge and that will be our focus this summer and next season.
"I am grateful to have the support of the board and [majority owner] Stan [Kroenke] in doing everything we can to win more trophies. It's what we all want and I know it's what our fans around the world demand."
The gunners finished in fifth place last season but took home the FA cup after defeating league champions, Chelsea 2-1 last weekend.
