UK blasts US over Manchester attack leaks, calls the US arrogant
The UK has blasted the US as arrogant and wrong after investigations into the Manchester terror attacks were leaked to the US media adding that it will stop sharing information about the investigation with their American counterparts in the future.
According to British authorities, U.K. authorities, the leak compromise the integrity of the investigation.
Manchester Mayor Ian Burnham tweeted:
Following an investigation into the attack at Manchester Arena on Monday night that killed 22 people and left 59 other wounded, highly sensitive police photos of the ongoing investigation were reportedly leaked to the US media.
Images of the remnants of the backpack used by terrorist Salman Abedi, evidence of shrapnel and a possible detonator were all published by the New York Times along with a layout of where those killed by the blast were hit.
British Prime Minister, Theresa May who is set to meet with US president Donald Trump at a NATO meeting on Thursday, will confront Trump on the issue saying that she would "make clear" to Trump that the leaks must stop.
