Tiger kills female zoo keeper in England

A female zookeeper was killed in a "freak accident" by a tiger at a British zoo after the tiger entered an enclosure she was working in.

The victim identified as Rosa King was attacked by the cat inside an enclosure at Hamerton Zoo Park, in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, south-east England, shortly after 11am Monday local time as police confirmed the death was “not suspicious”, reports the The Sun.

Her fellow staff tried in vain to distract the large cat by throwing large hunks of meat inside the enclosure during the attack but Ms King had already sustained serious injuries.
“A keeper sadly died when a tiger entered the enclosure with her. At no point did the tiger escape from enclosure,” Cambridgeshire Police said.
Visitors were evacuated from the zoo in Cambridgeshire a little before midday.

A friend of the victim described as a "lovely lady" who was "absolutely passionate" about the animals in her care,

Police were called to the attraction at 11.15am to reports of a serious incident, while an air ambulance was on the scene 20 minutes later.
