More 140 people arrested in Paris after France's presidential election

At least 141 people were arrested in Paris on Sunday night during an “anti-capitalist” demonstration that took place following the victory of Emmanuel Macron in France's presidential election.
According to reports by French media, about 300 protesters gathered in the Menilmontant district, one of Paris’s most popular neighborhoods in the north of the city, after Macron was elected as France’s new president.

Those detained in Menilmontant, were accused of offences ranging from throwing missiles at the police to damaging property reports Reuters.

Reports says the demonstrators were protesting both against Macron - criticized by many on France's far left as a member of a discredited elite in thrall to global capitalism - and against his defeated far-right nationalist rival, Marine Le Pen.

Macron defeated far-right rival Le Pen by 66 percent to 34 on a platform of market-friendly reform and closer European integration.
