Manchester United wins Europa League

Manchester United has claimed their second major trophy of the season and secured Champions League football as they overcame Ajax 2-1 to win the Europa League final in Stockholm on Wednesday night.
In the most painful of weeks for city of Manchester, Manchester United provided a fitting tribute defeating Ajax at the Friends Arena, in one of their most clinical performances of the season.

The victory comes less than 48 hours after the terrorist attack which claimed 22 lives and left 59 people injured at the Manchester Arena on Monday night.

Paul Pogba, still coming to terms with the recent death of his father, put United in front with a crucial first goal. Henrikh Mkhitaryan made it two in the second half to hand United the needed victory.

The trophy is United's first Europa League trophy and first continental trophy in nine years since 2008. 

With the victory, United automatically qualifies for next season's Champions League following a disappointing Premier League campaign. 

With the win, United joined a select group of sides to have hoisted silverware in all of the UEFA’s continental competitions
