Lionel Messi wins Copa del Rey for Barcelona gives Enrique perfect send-off

Luis Enrique left the Nou Camp on a high after his Barcelona side led by Lionel Messi produced an accomplished display as they beat Alaves on Saturday night in Madrid to secure the Copa del Rey for the third year running.


Lionel Messi, Neymar and Paco Alcacer were all on target as Barca cruised to a routine victory.

Enrique is leaving the club after three years in charge at the Nou Camp winning nine trophies in the period despite missing out on the Primera Liga and the Uefa Champions League this season.

During his three years in charge, he also won La Liga twice, the Champions League, the Fifa Club World Cup, Uefa Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup.

Messi will celebrate his 30th birthday next month with 30 trophies to his name after winning the Copa del Rey with Barcelona.

He became the first player to score in four Spanish Cup finals since Telmo Zarra did it in 1950, winning the trophy for the fifth time in the process.
