France Election: Who will be elected president ?

The two candidates will face off in the second round of election on Sunday May 7.

You already know that majority of French are rooting for 39-year old Emmanuel Macron who is widely tipped to become the president of France.

The race for 2017 French presidential election has entered its final stage today as the battle for the top office between Emmanuel Macron or Marine Le Pen heat up. Who gets the backing of the French voters?

It is expected that Macron - a centrist - should be able to attract a wider spectrum of second-round voters than Le Pen, pulling in left-leaning voters from Hamon and Mélenchon as well as those leaning to the right that voted Fillon in the first round.

What you need to know about the candidates
Emmanuel Macron: He is 39, and a former investment banker and economy minister who has never held elected office. He is a pro-business candidate who wants to overhaul France’s labor market, favors free trade and backs a stronger European Union. His campaign was hit late Friday by a large dump of leaked documents on a file-sharing website. Although there is an official French media blackout on sharing the information, it’s hard to determine how the breach will affect his chances.

Marine Le Pen: She is 48, and the leader of the far-right National Front party, although she temporarily stepped down from that position to campaign against Mr. Macron. She opposes globalization, backs protectionist economic policies, wants to drastically limit immigration and wants to leave the euro currency zone and organize a referendum on leaving the European Union.

Lets talk
who do you see winning the election and why do you think so?
