Arsenal wins FA Cup

Arsenal have won the FA Cup for the third time in four years and for a record 13th time in a thrilling final after defeating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday.

Goals in each half from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey fired the Gunners to a shock victory over the Blues, which denied Antonio Conte’s men the double.

The result means Arsene Wenger is the most successful manager in the competition's history with seven victories more than any other manager in the title's 143 years of existence.

Chelsea failed to gain revenge for the 2002 final, which Arsenal won 2-0, and the result ends their run of four consecutive final victories.

The defeat means Antonio Conte still hasn’t won a final as a manager but their brilliant league season will keep them warm at night when today’s disappointment fades

The victory comes at a critical time for Wenger, with opposition to his 20-year reign in north London stronger than ever despite missing out on Champions League football.
