Queen Elizabeth II celebrates 91st birthday
World’s oldest and longest-reigning
monarch, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, will turn 91 on Friday. The Queen will have a low key celebration at her Windsor Castle home near London where royal gun
salutes will mark the day later.
The monarch has given herself the day off from formal engagements as she mark the milestone with a royal gun salutes later in the day.
Elizabeth who became queen in 1952 at age 25 ascending to the throne upon the death of her father, George VI was born on April 21, 1926, in Bruton Street in central London. Reuters reported.
According to Reuters, the queen has an official birthday in June which is publicly marked with a large parade of soldiers through central London.
