Nigerian Born Mo Adeniran crowned winner of the Voice UK

Nigerian-born Mo Adeniran has emerged as the winner of the 2017 edition of The Voice UK during Sunday night's live final following months of stellar performances, battle rounds and public votes.

Mo, 21-year-old who currently works night shifts at a hotel, took the title following blistering performances of Paolo Nutini's Iron Sky and Unsteady by X Ambassadors and looked stunned as host Emma Willis announced that he had been voted the winner of the 2017 series.

The show was briefly disrupted by a stage invader and Tom Jones accidentally swearing on air, but that did little to nothing to detract him from beating beat Welsh duo Into The Ark to be named the winner.

Mo was raised in a foster home and lost another of his friend to drug overdose began his road to glory when he got into Jennifer Hudson’s team, after battling Diamond in the sing-offs, with his rendition of A Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke.
Jennifer chose Mo to get through in the quarter-final stage, while the public voted for him at the semi-final stage to qualify for the final.

On Saturday night, Mo came up against Into the Ark, Jamie and Michelle for the last three places in Sunday’s grand final and was again voted by the public to win the competition.

Thanking his mentor, singer and Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson, for her support, he said;

"An amazing thank you to the most phenomenal person I have ever met, thank you Jennifer."

He had been the bookies' favourite coming into the final, where he beat fellow contestants Michelle John, Jamie Miller and runners-up Into The Ark.
