Khloe Kardashian sued over Instagram photo

Like how can someone be sued for using their own photos??? Well this is the case with US reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian who found herself in hot water after she allegedly posted an unlicensed photo of herself on Instagram. This sounds crazy right?

Now you would say why?? its her picture, but she didn't own the rights to the image. It was a paparazzi photo taken by Manual Munoz, and was licensed to The Daily Mail.

The photo agency, Xposure Photos claims that the 32-year-old reality TV star shared one of their pictures they took of her and one of her sister dining out in Miami on September 13, 2016 to her Instagram account the following day without permission and is now pursing damages of up to $US150,000 for "willful, intentional, and malicious" copyright infringement.

The agency also alleged that the photo “had been altered to remove the copyright management information (CMI) showing plaintiff as the copyright owner of the image.”

Khloe shared the picture of her exiting Miami's Komodo restaurant with older sister Kourtney with her 66.8 million followers on Instagram at the time, though it has since been taken down.

Xposure Photos is also after $US25,000  in damages, claiming that the company's credit was digitally removed from the image.
