Donald Trump denies changing position on US-Mexico border wall, blames fake media

US president, Donald Trump has insisted that he's fully committed to building a wall on the US-Mexico border, just one day after saying he was open to waiting until the fall to get funding for the wall.

Trump made the remarks in a Tweet on Tuesday when he said;

"Don't let the fake media tell you that I have changed my position on the WALL," Trump tweeted. "It will get built and help stop drugs, human trafficking etc."

Trump has proposed to spend more than $1 billion for his proposed border wall.

Trump on Monday, reiterated that the wall was necessary to stop drugs from coming into the US.

"The wall is a very important tool in stopping drugs from pouring into our country and poisoning our youth (and many others)!" the president tweeted. He later added that without the wall, the "drug situation will NEVER be fixed the way it should be."
