Neighbours reported cries from the palm grove the night Mr Salubiro went missing, but it wasn’t until the next day when their fears were confirmed.

According to reports, Salubiro was swallowed alive by the snake after he left his home to harvest palm oil on Sunday night. His family and friends became worried over his whereabouts when he didn't return home and began looking for him the next evening. They then spotted a python in Mr Salubiro’s backyard looking a little, well, full.

His body, still intact, was discovered inside the snake's body after residents sliced open its belly.

He didn’t return home and concerned friends and relatives began looking for him the next evening.

They found the stodged python sprawled out in Akbar’s own back garden on Monday night at 10pm — and feared he had been suffocated and swallowed.

Locals gathered round as one man used an 18-inch long hunting knife to slice open the serpent — and found Akbar inside still in tact.
The boots Akbar was wearing were clearly visible in the stomach of the snake.

Reticulated pythons are a species found in South East Asia and are among the world’s largest snake species. The breed – which squeezes prey until it suffocates – has been responsible for several human deaths.
