Thousands of people gathered in silence on Westminster bridge to pay tribute to victims of London terror attack

Thousands of people have gathered in silence at the scene of last week's terror attack at the Westminster bridge with a message of love, to pay tribute to those killed in the attack, exactly one week after in which dozens of people were injured in the 82-second atrocity.

The silent tribute, organised by an interfaith organisation and police, included students and families, of victims with many clutching flowers, stood shoulder to shoulder in a touching tribute to the four people killed and dozens injured in the horrific terror attack.

Also taking part in the tribute are particularly many from the Muslim community.
Many held banners bearing the slogan “Love for all, hatred for none”.
Others wore shirts stating: “#IamaMuslim”.

One of those to attend the vigil was Andrei Burnaz, whose girlfriend Andreea Cristea plunged into the Thames during the attack. She remains in a coma in hospital.

Flowers were laid along the bridge with those gathered falling silent at 2.40pm – the time the first call was made to police seven days ago.

Rain began to fall as the vigil paused for the minute’s silence with crowds standing in the shadow of the Palace of Westminster, where the deadly attack took place.
