"I'll hang all of you" - Philippine President threatens EU members

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte also known as the punisher due to his brutal crackdown on drug offenders has threatened to hang the European Union members after he warned the continent to stop pressuring South-East Asian countries to abolish the death penalty.

Duterte noted that most ASEAN member countries have capital punishment and are still being pressured by the European Union on the issue.

Speaking on the issues on Thursday at press a conference after returning to Manila from visits to Myanmar and Thailand, Duterte said;

"You fools, you sons of bitches, stop interfering with us."

"No one will tell you, so I will tell you, you are all fools."

"I will just be happy to hang you. If I have the preference, I'll hang all of you."

"You are putting us down. You are exerting pressure in every country with the death penalty."

Though it was not clear who Duterte's was addressing by the remarks, but earlier in the week he was quoted as railing against European parliamentarians, who passed a resolution last week urging the Philippines not to reintroduce the death penalty.

Cambodia and the Philippines are the only 2 countries among the 10 member ASEAN countries that have abolished the death penalty, but Manila has taken steps to reinstate capital punishment under Duterte's administration.

Duterte said Europeans were against the death penalty out of guilt over the deaths of millions of people during World War I.

"Your guilt, your conscience is almost genetics. It is passed on from generation to generation," he said.
