Helicopter crashes into TV tower in Istanbul

At least seven people were killed after a helicopter carrying top business executives including four Russians crashed onto a motorway after smashing into a television tower in Istanbul shortly after taking off.


The Sikorsky S-76 aircraft, owned by private firm Eczacibasi, was flying in dense fog when it crashed in the mainly residential Buyukcekmece district shortly after take off from Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, killing all seven people on board including four Russians and three Turkish nationals.

According to report by eyewitness, the chopper slammed into the tower before crashing on the highway.
