Zimbabweans used 109 million condoms in 2016

A new report released by the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health has revealed that about 109.5 million of condoms were used in the country in 2016, more than the 80 million used in the previous year.

According to the Ministry, 105 million male and 4.5 female condoms were distributed in 2016, with the female condom uptake remaining low. The report also stated that the use of condoms as a safe sex practice has helped the country lower the number of new HIV Infections.
Zimbabwe, a country of 13 million people is currently ranked as the 10th highest in condom use by UN, with nearly 1.5 million people living with HIV.

The data released by the UN ranked Amenia on number (1), Swaziland (2), Nigeria (3), Ukraine (4), Belize (5), Mauritius (6), Gabon (7), Lesotho (8), Haiti (9) and Zimbabwe (10) as countries with the most condom use.
