African-American coming-of-age tale, the 24's Moonlight was awarded the best picture Oscar following an epic mix-up after La La Land was mistakenly handed the top award of the night in an unprecedented mix-up.
Presenter Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway took to the stage to announce the wrong winner when she originally announced Lionsgate’s La La Land as the winner, who was supposed to walk away with its seventh win of the night from its record-tying 14 nominations, with the cast and crew celebrating and producers even delivering an acceptance speeches before the mistake was discovered, which resulted in chaos as reality set in.

At one point casts and teams of both films’ were on stage as it dawned on the audience that this was no joke.
"I want to tell you what happened. I opened the envelope and it said, "Emma Stone, 'La La Land, "Beatty explained.
"That's why I took such a long look at Faye and at you. I wasn't trying to be funny," he added.
It was the first time that such a major mistake had been made at the Academy Awards night.
"Is that the craziest Oscar moment of all time?" said Stone who won the best actress Oscar for her La La Land role as a struggling actress. "It's a very strange happening for Oscar history," she added.
La La Land who lead the nomination list with 14 nominations and emerged the biggest winner of the night with six, including for its score and theme song City of Stars.

La La Land director Damien Chazelle, 32, became the youngest person to ever win a best director Oscar.
