Thirty-five years after its release, Michael Jackson’s "Thriller," the biggest
album in history, on Thursday notched up another achievement as it was certified as
selling 33 million copies in the United States, making it the first album in music
history to be certified 33x platinum for United States sales and
streams.
The Recording Industry Association of America gave the new sales total for the album done in 1982, one year after the group started to factor in streaming.

The album which remains a timeless hit among music fans proves just how popular the King of Pop truly is as it also become the only album ever to have surpassed the RIAA’s 30x million mark in US sales.
Thriller has now solidified its status as the best-selling album of all time with the late Michael Jackson's overall worldwide record sales now exceeding the one billion mark.
During his career, Jackson released 13 number 1 singles and was even twice inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Jackson is recognized as The Most Successful Singer of All Time by the Guinness Book of World Records. The album Thriller is also recognized as the World’s Top-Selling Album of All-Time by the Guinness Book of World Records.
