Manchester United wins EFL Cup

Manchester United have got their swagger back after wining the EFL Cup for the fifth time by defeating Southampton 3-2 in a pulsating game thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored twice to hand United the trophy at Wembley on Sunday.

Ibrahimovic opened the score with a sublime free-kick after a Southampton goal was ruled off for off-sight. Jesse Lingard then made it 2-0 few minutes later before Southampton staged a remarkable comeback when Manolo Gabbiadini struck in shortly before the interval to make it 2-1.

Southampton equalised after the break when Gabbiadini, scored with a low finish which was followed by a pulsating period as both sides missed quality chances to take the lead. With less than five minutes left to play. Ibrahimovic scored a powerful header from Ander Herrera's cross.
