Iran retaliates, bans US wrestlers

Iran has banned US wrestlers from participating in the Freestyle World Cup competition in the western city of Kermanshah later this month in response to Donald Trump's executive order that banns Iranians and six other Muslim majority countries from entering the US reported the official IRNA news agency on Friday.

The report quotes the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi as saying a special committee reviewed the case for the US team and "Eventually the visit by the US freestyle wrestling team was opposed."

The competition is scheduled for February 16-17.
