French soldiers shoots machete-wielding man who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ outside Louvre Museum, Paris

A man armed with machete and two bags who shouted "Allahu Akbar" (”God is greatest”) was shot and wounded by French soldiers as he tried to enter the enter the Louvre Museum, in Paris on Friday.

The man who wounded one soldier in the attack was shot five times in the stomach sustaining serious injuries.

Reports from France, says the knife-man is said to have attacked the soldiers when they told him that he could not bring his bags into the Carrousel du Louvre shopping mall and then tried to fight him off before opening fire.

French police chief Michel Cadot said; 
"It was an attack by a person ... who represented a direct threat and whose actions suggested a terrorist context. The attacker is wounded in the stomach. He is conscious and he was moving. Checks of the man's two backpacks found they did not contain explosives"
At the time of the incident, there were about 250 people in the world-famous museum where the Mona Lisa hangs but were held at a distance and confined in secure areas of the Louvre as the building to go into emergency lock down. 

French President Francois Hollande said the attack was "no doubt" an act of terror. 

Meanwhile US President Donald Trump has reacted to the incident, and tweeted that;
"A new radical Islamic terrorist has just attacked in Louvre Museum in Paris. Tourists were locked down. France on edge again. GET SMART U.S."
