Cyprus Talks: Leaders to intensify talks in February

Akinci met on Wednesday February 2017, the second time they have met since the Conference in Geneva on January 12.
Following the meeting, the United Nations Special Adviser on Cyprus, Mr. Espen Barth Eide issued a statement that both leaders took stock of developments since the Geneva conference and the subsequent meetings that was held on their behalf by their deputies in Mont Pèlerin on January 18 and 19.
The two leaders are scheduled to meet again on February 9.

The leaders agreed to meet weekly through February to discuss outstanding issues while the negotiators will also continue their regular meetings.“They underscored their strong resolve and determination to maintain the current momentum,” the statement said.
