Real Madrid's Spanish record of 40 games unbeaten streak ended on Sunday after they were beaten 2-1 by fellow Spanish side, Sevilla in La Liga.
Real Madrid has been on a 40 game unbeaten streak since they were last defeated by German side Wolfsburg since April 2016 in the champions league last season and on Thursday achieved the milestone in a Copa del Rey match with Sevilla following a 3-3 draw with the side.
Real Madrid went ahead with a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty kick just after the hour mark but a Sergio Ramos own goal in the 85th minute made it 1-1 before Stevan Jovetic sealed the victory for Sevilla in the 92nd minute
