More than 64% of Americans want Donald Trump to delete his Twitter account
According to a recent poll carried out by Quinnipiac University which was
released on Tuesday January 9, 2017, 64% of Americans want the US president-elect Donald Trump to shut down his personal Twitter account the @realDonaldTrump.
Trump has been using the Twitter account since 2009 and currently has more than 19.6 million followers.
The poll found that an even larger majority of Americans aged between 18-34, 71%, are in favor of Trump shutting down the account, while republicans are virtually split on the question: with 49% saying Trump should keep the account, while 45% say it should be shut.
Trump' who has Tweeted more than 34,000 times from the account has constantly generated headlines and controversy with several Tweets.
Trump is likely to inherit the @POTUS, official presidential Twitter account, when President Obama leaves office on January 20, 2017.

Voters identifying themselves as Democrats and independents overwhelmingly want
Trump to shut down the account by margins of 80-18 and 65-31
respectively.
