China has initiated its first rail-freight
train service to London from Yiwu, in the
eastern province of Zhejiang, as part of President
Xi Jinping’s efforts to strengthen trade ties with Europe, reports the Xinhua news agency.
The first
train departed China on January 1 and is expected to travel for 18 days covering more than 12,000 kilometers and will pass through Kazakhstan, Russia,
Belarus, Poland, Germany, Belgium and France before arriving in London.
