Donald Trump stops Mexican president from visiting if country refuses to pay for wall

US President Donald Trump has told Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto to cancel his scheduled visit to the US next week Tuesday if the country refuses to pay for his proposed wall along the US-Mexico border.

Trump made the statement in a series of Tweets on his personal Twitter account on Thursday
"The US has a 60 billion dollar trade deficit with Mexico. It has been a one-sided deal from the beginning of NAFTA with massive numbers... of jobs and companies lost. If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting," Trump tweeted.

Since assuming office as the president of the US, Trump has made significant move on his vow to build a wall on the US border with Mexico which would cost the US around $US12 billion to $US15 billion.

And earlier this week, Trump said Mexico will have to shoulder the cost of the building the wall.

Meanwhile, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on Thursday canceled his meeting with Trump following Trump's comments.
"This morning we have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the POTUS," President Peña Nieto tweeted.
President Peña Nieto had earlier on Wednesday said Mexico "will not pay for any wall."
