37 killed in Turkish cargo jet crash

At least 37 people were killed when a Turkish cargo jet trying to land in dense fog crashed in a village near Kyrgyzstan's Manas airport, on Monday morning, Kyrgyz officials said.

According to officials, most of the crash victims were residents of the village that was struck by the ACT Airlines.

Airport administration said the plane was supposed to make a stopover at Manas, near the capital city Bishkek, on its way from Hong Kong to Istanbul.

According to reports by Reuters, the jet which ploughed for a few hundred metres through the village, shattered into pieces and damage several buildings.
