WizKid nominated for 2016 Grammy Awards.

Talented Nigerian hip hop artist, Wizkid aka Star Boy has been nominated for a Grammy award. Wizkid grabbed the nomination at the 59th Grammys courtesy of the 2016 Drake award wining album, ''Views,'' which stood out as one of the best albums released in 2016, getting a Best Album nomination.

Wizkid was a prominent contributor on the lead single, ‘One Dance’, where he is nominated as a guest artiste, and also as a producer. The track, also features Kyla.
 

The award is given to the main artist, the featured artiste(s), the producer, the engineer and/or mixer and the mastering engineer.

Wizkid has credit as both producer and featured artist on Views.

Wizkid also co-produced and featured in the song “One Dance” in the album.

Before now, the award was only given to the main artiste but this year’s edition of the Grammy Awards would see contributing acts and producers going home with awards as well.

The album, Views will face competition for the “Album of the year” category, from other award winning artistes like Adele' 25, Beyonce’s Lemonade, and Justin Bieber’s Purpose.

The 59^th edition of the Grammy’s has 84 categories with Wizkid the only Nigerian on the list.

Wizkid will be the first Nigerian to win a Grammy if he gets the prize on February 12, 2017 when the ceremony is scheduled to hold.
