Watch the moment a Russian dancer died on stage during his performance, as audience thought it was part of the show

The video has emerged of the shocking moment a 48-year-old Russian dancer collapsed and died on stage – as the audience clapped and laughed, thinking it was all part of the show.

The man, only identified as R. Khusainov, and worked as a children’s dance teacher, was performing at a Mother’s Day concert in the town of Urus-Martan in south-western Russia‘s Chechen Republic.

According to The SUN, a member of the audience recorder the video showing the dancer collapsing to the floor while performing a traditional Lezginka dance.

The Lezginka dance is a traditional dance of the Lezgins – an ethnic group in the Caucasus region – and is performed by many other groups including the Chechens and Cossacks.

The video show Khusainov, dancing energetically while singer Liza Akhmatova performed a Chechen song, and then appeared to suddenly lose his footing and fell to the ground.

Akhmatova carried on singing and dancing around him after he fell to the ground and didn’t appear to realise what was happening, saying jokily: “Hey, he stopped it,” while the audience were heard laughing in the background.
Singer Akhmatova continued to sing as the crowd applauded, thinking it was part of the show.
Akhmatova then urged the audience to give Khusainov a round of applause, but it quickly became apparent that something was wrong as other cast members rushed onto the stage to check on the dancer.

Paramedics arrived quickly at the venue – but Khusainov, was already dead.

According to report by the The SUN, the dancer is said to have a history of heart disease, and had died from a sudden heart attack.
