TRNC leader Mustafa Akinci nominated as influential European politician of the year

Turkish Republic of North Cyprus TRNC, leader, Mustafa Akinci has been named as one of the 28 most influential politicians of the year 2016 by Political online daily politico.eu ‘Politico 28.’

Also making the list of the 28 people who are shaping, shaking and stirring Europe, is Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), editors of the daily, ‘Politico 28’ installment, which was inaugurated in 2015, choose one person from each European Union member state, and after which each politician is ranked.

The final selection would be taking place at a dinner event organised by Politico in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday evening reports CNA.

Mustafa Akinci, 69, was elected ‘president’ of TRNC in April 2015 and immediately began engaging his counterpart, Greek Cyprus president, Nicos Anastasiades in reunification talks which has so far created hope for the people and the EU.
