Prince Andrew denies rift rumours with Prince Charles over future roles of daughters

Britain's Prince Andrew, the Duke of York has denied rumours of a rift between himself and his brother Prince Charles over his daughter's participation as members of the Royal Family.

In a rare public statement posted on Twitter, Prince Andrew said recent press reports regarding Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice had "no basis of fact" and were "completely made up and an invention".
"It is a complete fabrication to suggest I have asked for any future husbands of the princesses to have titles," Prince Andrew wrote.
"There is no truth to the story there could be a split between the Prince of Wales and I over my daughters' participation as members of the royal family and any continued speculation is pointless, he continued,
"As a father, my wish for my daughters is for them to be modern working young women, who happen to be members of the royal family and I am delighted to see them building their careers."
Recently, media outlets including the Daily Mail published a report that the duke wanted the future husbands of his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, to receive the title earl, as he was concerned their children would otherwise be commoners.

Also in October, the Sunday Express reported that the brothers were rowing after Charles rejected the duke's requests for his daughters, seventh and eighth in line to the throne, to be given full-time royal roles funded by the taxpayer instead of pursuing their own careers.
