North Cyprus government releases new working hours for public sector and institutions
Following
the recent protests by Turkish Cypriots Unions in the Turkish Republic
of North Cyprus (TRNC), calling for the reversal of the time zone back
by one hour to implement Daylight Saving Time (DST), the Council of
Ministers has come out with a new arrangements regarding working hours
in the public sector and institutions.
According to the decision taken by the Council of Ministers, from Monday December 5th, the new working hours of the public sector will begin at 8.30am. which will run through the months of December, 2016, January and February, 2017.
And also, working hours for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday will be from 8.30am to 4 pm, while on Thursday it will be from 8.30 am to 1pm and after a one hour lunch break, work will continue from 2 pm to 5.30pm.
According to reports, efforts are being made to change the working hours of people in the private sector.
