North Cyprus government approves new Amnesty law to help overstayed/unregistered students

The government of the Turkish republic of North Cyprus TRNC has approved a new law that will help clear outstanding debt for students whom for one reason or the other had failed to register for their academic studies, hence could not process their resident permits (muharejet).

According to the new law, foreign students that have over stayed their residence in TRNC, can benefit from the Amnesty without having to exit the Island.

Those that wish to benefit from the Amnesty can apply to the Residence Office within a period of two months from today, December 1, 2016. They will be required to pay a fee of 1835TL, with an extra 250TL.

This amnesty program is available only two months (December 2016 to January 2017).
