Johnny Depp ranked most overpaid actor for second year in a row

Hollywood actor, Johnny Depp has been ranked as the most over paid actor in the annual Forbes list of the top 10 most overpaid actors in Hollywood for the second year running.
To compile the list, Forbes' analysts examined the last three significant movies the actor played in before June.

They then calculated the operating income of those movies and divided the figure by the actor's estimated pay to arrive at a figure for final return on investment.

By that model, they arrived at the conclusion that Depp returned about $US2.80 for each dollar he was paid.

Depp last starred in Disney's "Alice Through the Looking Glass," which generated a disappointing $US300 million worldwide on a $US170 million budget.

Depp will next appear in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales".

Coming in second place is Will Smith with $5 for every dollar he was paid. His drama “Concussion” grossed $48 million worldwide for Sony on a $35 million budget while “Focus” generated $160 million in global  box office on a $50 million budget.
