Donald Trump blasts United Nations, says 'it's just a club for people to 'have a good time'

US president-elect, Donald Trump on Monday scolded the United Nations in a Tweeter post, describing  the world body as "sad," and saying the organization is just a club for people to "have a good time''.

Trump's comments comes just days after the UN Security Council adopted a resolution demanding an end to Israeli settlements in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, despite pressure by Trump for a veto by Washington.

"The United Nations has such great potential but right now it is just a club for people to get together, talk and have a good time. So sad!" Trump wrote.

Trump who is to take office on January 20, 2017 had on Friday last week warned that; 

"As to the UN, things will be different after January 20.''
