Did you know that ''IKEJA," the capital of Lagos State, Nigeria was an abbreviation? Yes... and according to reports on Wikipedia, IKEJA is actually an abbreviation for Ikorodu and Epe Joint Administration. It was coined by colonial administrators for ease of administration. It is also said to be from 'Ikehdia' a Benin word meaning Watch Station. Now you know...
