Barack Obama says he would have beaten Donald Trump for a third term

US President Barack Obama, who is set to leaves office on January 20, 2017 has said he believes he could have won a third term bid for the White House if not for constitutional term limits.
Obama said this during an interview with a former aide David Axelrod, on his CNN podcast in the White House.

The 55-year-old said he was confident he would have defeated president-elect, Donald Trump had the US constitution permitted him to run for the presidency for a third term adding that he still believed most Americans still subscribed to his progressive ideals and policies.
"The majority does buy into the notion of a one America that is tolerant and diverse and open and full of energy and dynamism," he said.
"And the problem is, it doesn't always manifest itself in politics, right? You know, I am confident in this vision because I'm confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could've mobilised a majority of the American people to rally behind it."
“I know that in conversations that I’ve had with people around the country, even some people who disagreed with me, they would say the vision, the direction that you point towards is the right one,” he said.
 And it didn’t take time before Trump,hit back at Obama's comments on twitter when he tweeted;
“President Obama said that he thinks he would have won against me. He should say that but I say NO WAY! — jobs leaving, ISIS, OCare, etc.”
