Arsenal striker, Alexis Sanchez rejects £180K-a-week deal

Arsenal striker, Alexis Sanchez has rejected a new offer of £180K a week form the gunners. Sanchez currently earns £130K a week at the Emirate club and is said to be holding out for a mega improved deal of £250K a week.

The Chilean striker has been in fine form for the Gunners recently and still has 18 months before his current deal runs out as the club is desperate to tie him down to a long term deal. 

Arsenal are however reluctant to meet his wage demands but remain hopeful a deal can be struck in time. 

Meanwhile the player insists he's happy at the club adding that his contract negotiations will depend on whether the club wants to "show confidence" in him.

"It really doesn't depend on me so much as it does the club, if they want to show confidence in me," said Sanchez.

"I'm very happy at the club. I love It here, I love all the staff, I love the coaches, I love all the employees who work for us. I'm very grateful for everybody here. As I say, I'm very happy so it depends more on Arsenal, " he added.

Another player whose contract negotiations is also dragging on is German playmaker Mesut Ozil, 28 whose current contracts also expire in 18 months.
