WhatsApp set to launch secure video calling feature
Popular
messaging and voice app WhatsApp on Monday announced
it will be adding the ability to make free video calls from within the
app in the coming days.
The new feature, will allow the app's more than 1 billion users worldwide to speak face to face
with friends and family, regardless of whether they are using Android,
iPhone and Windows devices."We're introducing this feature because we know that sometimes voice and text just aren't enough," WhatsApp said in a blog post late Monday.
"And we want to make these features available to everyone, not just those who can afford the most expensive new phones or live in countries with the best cellular networks."The feature will provide another means for users to communicate without fear of bugging.
WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum in an interview said the new feature will be rolled out to 180 countries within hours after the feature is introduced at an event in India.
